Getting Started

Opening Your First File

Launch Treo Markdown Editor on your iPhone or iPad
Tap the "Browse" button in the top right corner
Navigate to your markdown file using the iOS Files picker
Tap the file to open it

Tip: Treo Markdown Editor supports files with .md and .txt extensions. Store your files in iCloud Drive for easy access across all your devices.

Viewing Modes

Treo Markdown Editor offers multiple ways to view your markdown:

Preview Mode: See your markdown beautifully rendered with proper formatting
Plain Text Mode: View the raw markdown source code

Toggle between views using the segmented control at the top of the viewer.

File Management

Recent Files

Treo Markdown Editor automatically remembers files you've recently opened. Access them from the main screen for quick viewing without navigating through folders again.

Sorting Options

Organize your recent files by:

Update Time: Most recently modified files first
Folder Name: Group by folder location
File Name: Alphabetical order

Tap the sort icon in the top left to change the sorting method.

Folder Access

For frequently accessed folders, you can grant Treo Markdown Editor persistent access:

Go to Settings (gear icon)
Tap "Manage Folder Access"
Add folders you want quick access to

Sharing & Export

Export as PDF

Create a beautifully formatted PDF from your markdown:

Open your markdown file
Tap the Share button
Select "Export as PDF"
Choose where to save or share the PDF

Share as HTML

Share your rendered markdown as an HTML file:

Open your markdown file
Tap the Share button
Select "Share as HTML"

Customization

Theme Settings

Customize Treo Markdown Editor's appearance in Settings:

System: Follows your device's light/dark mode setting
Light: Always use light mode
Dark: Always use dark mode

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Why aren't images loading?

If images aren't displaying, check that:

You have an active internet connection (for remote images)
The image URLs are correct and use HTTPS
The image host allows external access

How do I delete a file from Recent Files?

Swipe left on any file in the Recent Files list to reveal the delete option. This only removes it from your recent list; it doesn't delete the actual file.

Does Treo Markdown Editor sync my files?

Treo Markdown Editor doesn't have its own sync feature, but it works great with iCloud Drive. Store your markdown files in iCloud Drive and access them from any of your devices.

Is my data private?

Absolutely. Treo Markdown Editor doesn't collect any personal data or upload your files anywhere. Everything stays on your device. Read our Privacy Policy for complete details.
