Treo Markdown Editor ("we", "our", or "the app") is a markdown viewer and editor application for iOS devices. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Treo Markdown Editor is designed with a privacy-first approach, meaning your data stays on your device.

Information We Do Not Collect

Treo Markdown Editor does not collect any personal information. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Device identifiers or unique IDs
• Location data
• Usage analytics or statistics
• The content of your markdown files
• Your browsing history within the app
• Any other personal data

Local Data Storage

Treo Markdown Editor stores the following information locally on your device only:

• Recent Files: A list of recently opened files is stored locally to provide quick access. This data never leaves your device.
• App Preferences: Your settings (such as theme preference) are stored locally on your device.
• Security-Scoped Bookmarks: When you grant access to files or folders, iOS creates security-scoped bookmarks that allow the app to access those files. These are managed by iOS and stored locally.

All of this data is stored exclusively on your device and is not transmitted to any external servers.

File Access

Treo Markdown Editor accesses markdown and text files that you explicitly select through the iOS Files picker. The app:

• Only accesses files you explicitly choose to open
• Does not scan your device for files
• Does not upload your files to any server
• Does not share your files with third parties

Network Usage

Treo Markdown Editor may make network requests in the following limited circumstances:

• Remote Images: If your markdown files contain references to images hosted on the internet, those images will be fetched from their respective servers. This is a direct request from your device to the image host.

Apart from loading remote images referenced in your documents, Treo Markdown Editor does not make any network requests. There are no analytics, tracking, or data collection services integrated into the app.

Third-Party Services

Treo Markdown Editor does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use:

• Google Analytics or similar analytics tools
• Advertising networks
• Crash reporting services that collect personal data
• Social media tracking pixels

Children's Privacy

Treo Markdown Editor does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any data, there is no risk of collecting children's data.

Data Security

Since Treo Markdown Editor does not collect or transmit personal data, your information remains secure on your device. Your files are protected by your device's built-in security features, including:

• iOS sandboxing
• Device encryption
• Face ID / Touch ID protection (if enabled on your device)

Your Rights

Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no personal data for you to access, modify, or delete from our systems. All your data remains on your device under your control.

You can delete the app at any time, which will remove all locally stored app data including preferences and recent file history.
