Local reading history and ranking
Otus stores subscriptions, article content, bookmarks, reading and other interaction history, preferences, and ranking data locally. These interactions personalize article ranking on the device; they are not uploaded to a developer analytics service. Otus does not require a sign-in account or integrate advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
Feeds and publisher websites
Otus contacts feed hosts and article publishers to retrieve feeds, discover feeds, resolve links, and load content and images. Resolving Google News links may contact Google News. Hosts receive normal connection information such as your IP address and requested URL. Original web pages may run publisher scripts and use cookies or other tracking under the publisher’s policy. Content extraction is processed on the device after content is retrieved.
Logs, export, and deletion
Local diagnostic logs can include feed and article URLs and technical details and can be shared by you. OPML export shares subscriptions with the destination you choose. iOS backups may include local app data depending on device settings. Deleting an article from the list marks it as deleted; use Data Management cleanup controls to remove stored articles or activity. Copies already exported or backed up remain under the destination’s control.
